Ayrshire Woman Killed By Foxes.

On 10th January 2022 it was reported in the local Metro that a Woman’s body had been found ‘eaten by foxes or badgers’ after she left her broken down car on a dark night. The unidentified 55-year-old was found by sniffer dogs in Monkton, Ayrshire on December 19. It’s believed her body may have been partially eaten by badgers or foxes, in a field a mile from the spot where her car broke down.

The 55-year-old from Airdrie, Scotland, was waiting for roadside assistance to arrive in mid-December when she walked a mile away from her stranded vehicle and into nearby fields in south Ayrshire, in the west of the country.

Police found her body less than a week before Christmas at around 4.55pm on December 19. They had been conducting a missing persons inquiry after the woman's Citroen was found empty the day before, near the coastal village of Monkton.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 11.20pm on December 18, police were called to a report of a possible abandoned car on an unclassified road. 'Officers attended and the initial investigations failed to trace the registered keeper and officers started a missing person enquiry.' The spokesperson added a day later the woman's body was discovered 'in a field approximately one mile from where the car was discovered'.

I think my main question is ‘why did she leave the car’?

The weather that night was typical for the area in winter, the car was a warmer option to wait for road recovery to attend. We know from newspaper reports that she did request this but as she was not at the car when the mechanic arrived there was nothing he could do? We are taught to stay with the car. Even so, if she thought she would have more luck walking into town for help, she went in completely the opposite direction. I think most females would have stayed on the lane and walked towards the lights hoping to get help from a passing car, but she didn’t. In fact she walked away from the  lights into dark field where she was eventually found?

Checking on Google maps will show you she was very close to homes and businesses, that would have been lit up like a light house at night, yet she headed into dark, unlit fields and woodlands. In fact this is the site of Prestwick Airport and a busy Golf Club. Did something scare here enough that she had no other choice but to go ever further into unlit fields? Was something standing between her and safety? Was she chased until she collapsed or succumbed to a natural illness and was predated on after the event?

There is a huge amount of CCTV for a rural area available due to the MOD bases, BA facility, Golf course and Airport, yet she wasn't seen on any. And neither was what scared her.

I was contacted by our witness via email who did have some new, vital information available on the case which has enabled me to do a deep dive of the area and start to pin somethings together. Let’s hear from our witness and then I will share some other cases, thoughts and theories on the events discussed.

BBR Witness: "Hi Debs, I've been a follower of yours for a while now and actually just about fell out my bed when I was listening to your latest YouTube video on missing people as you mentioned a case I know well.

I live about 4 miles away from Monkton and have been both fascinated and seriously concerned about the goings on near Monkton for many, many years now. That poor woman who died in a field for instance. She was barefoot by the way! She was running through field's and climbing over hedges not walking as has been suggested. And nobody knows Why? My neighbour was a porter at Ayr hospital and he said no one was allowed near the mortuary when her body was brought in. Rumour is that she was half eaten. Not nibbled by foxes and badgers. They brought in a private pathologist. Which leaves so many questions unanswered. Another thing I don't understand is why they tagged her as a missing person so quickly? It normally it's 48 hours for a person of her age to be declared missing but they found her body the next day after getting a search party and sniffer dogs out. I find that really strange.

But anyway I just wanted to say I had an encounter in Monkton in January 1999. Also me and my friend had a weird experience in 1994 when we were 14 and she lived 1 mile away from Monkton. I think I mentioned it to you before in the comments about our tent being torn to shreds when we attempted to camp out in her back garden. Honestly Debs there's something really weird about that whole area. The woods at Ladykirk give me the fear.

My Dad had a strange experience while walking from his house in Kilmarnock through the woods to the Fenwick Hotel back in the late 90s. I was working at British Aerospace, Monkton in 1999 when I had my encounter. I was 18 years old and utterly terrified. This is an experience I shared with Paul Sinclair that I want to share with you also.

I was always dropped off for work at the Aerospace back gate by my bf. The front gate was even further away from the office where I worked. My dad worked there too (mum and him didn't live together so he came from his house in Kilmarnock for work). After new year I got moved from the machine shop to BF Goodrich and it was a good walk to get there from the back gate, plus it was dark (January) and bloody cold so dad said he would get me at 7.10am and he'd run me up. Which he did for nearly 2 weeks.

So that morning I waited on him for a few minutes and then the security guard at the gate came up to the car and said my dad had already gone through. It annoyed me but I had no choice but to walk. I said bye to my bf and I started walking down the road.

Instantly I felt that something wasn't right. Gut instinct perhaps? I got the feeling I was being watched but I tried to brush it aside and I walked on, heading down to the mini roundabout where I would turn left. It was quite well lit in the compound although some areas were darker than others. It was so quiet especially at that time of the morning.

I took a left and walked on for a bit and then I heard this big crashing noise over to my right. It came from the side of the trainee apprentice block. I got such a fright I stopped in my tracks. Then a few seconds later I noticed a shape appear at the doors of the old wood shed (the wood shed was integrated into the apprentice block,) distance wise your talking roughly 10 metres away. I thought someone had fallen and had gotten injured, as it looked like they were crawling out of the shed.

So I took a step closer and the shape made a weird noise. Not a human noise but a growl. I saw that it wasn't a person. It looked like a huge Dog, like a Newfoundland. My friend had one but this one was massive compared to his dog George. It took a few steps forward then it stopped. I remember looking around to see if anybody else was there but no one was about.

When I looked back literally a few seconds later it was standing upright on two legs but a lot closer to me than it was before, maybe 5 metres away from me. It was huge. I never noticed any movement in the seconds I had looked away. And it was standing on stony ground so I'm sure I'd have heard it move. It was looking right at me and it growled again. Thinking about it now I don't know how I didn't collapse on the spot. My gut instinct had been right, something was wrong and it was spot on. Obviously adrenaline was pumping by now and my senses all went through the roof. The hairs on my arms and neck were all standing on end. I felt like I could hear a pin drop. Heart pounding in my chest and ears.  I've never been so utterly terrified in my life.

It was standing slightly hunched but must have been about 7ft tall as I'm only 5ft 3 and it was a total giant compared to me. It had really pointy ears on top of its head. It had dark fur and a massive frame with huge shoulders. It's eyes didn't glow yellow but it's face was like something out of American Werewolf in London. I saw that film when I was 9 and I had nightmares for years. The nightmares lasted a lot longer after seeing it for real! I saw the long arms hanging down by its side. Arms. Like human arms. At the end of the arms were hands with claws. The body was massive but it looked like it had a bit of a waist which was weird. The legs looked muscular at the top and very long. I don't remember it's feet. It started to sniff the air which still gives me the chills. But it didn't move from that spot and neither did I. I couldn't have moved even if I'd wanted too.

Then I heard the noise of the mail buggy that drives about with the guy inside. It looked like a golf buggy but covered over and was a bit more sturdy. It appeared from the back of the trainee apprentice building as that's where the internal mail centre was. The thing obviously heard it too and turned quickly to the side and it made that growl noise again except louder, like a snarl. Like it was really pissed off. It must have slightly opened its mouth as I saw incisors hanging down. Then it did a 180, took an almighty leap, landed on all fours and disappeared behind a storage container. That was the last I saw it, heading in the opposite direction that I had been heading.

The mail man was oblivious and turned in the direction I had been heading so after standing there for a few seconds I took off after the buggy. My heart was beating out my chest and my mind just kept thinking 'Werewolf, Werewolf'. I kept looking behind me and keeping up with the mail buggy. The mail buggy took a right towards the BF Goodrich hanger but I wasn't far from the office so I just took off running and got to the office door. Then my swipe card entry wouldn't work and I ended up in tears, absolutely terrified in case it came back. I kept swiping till it turned green and the door unlocked and I got inside.

I told no one what happened. I tried to get on with my day but I was making mistakes.

During the day there was weird goings on at the base with helicopters about flying low, HMS Gannett security going about Aerospace in trucks. It just seemed a bit strange as I'd never seen that before. By that time, I had already decided that I wasn't going back for the rest of the week. My mind started overthinking things. So I pretended I wasn't well. I remember dreading the thought of going back to work. I kept going over it in my head. I could hardly sleep.

Later in the week, I can't remember what day it was Mum came in to the house and was holding the local newspaper. I'll never forget her words. "Hey there's a baboon been spotted at Prestwick Airport". I almost fell off the chair!! A what? when? I asked her. "Just a few days ago" she said. I couldn't believe it. A baboon? Don't they mean a Werewolf I thought?

The newspaper said airport security had checked the airport cargo etc for escaped monkeys/baboons. Police had seen it disappear into undergrowth near the airport, they searched but found nothing. A driver said a baboon like creature had ran in front of his car on Shaw Farm Rd. Some folk called it the Prestwick baboon others called it the Man Beast. All of this is within a short distance of my encounter (Aerospace and Prestwick Airport are separated only by the runway) Then the sightings of a black panther type beast at Colyton and Sundrum began to be discussed. The attack on the horse etc.

The good thing was Mum told Dad he had to get me every morning without fail as I wasn't walking myself with a baboon on the loose. And so he did. I never told them as Mum would have freaked out completely. She can't deal with stuff like that. Dad is a non-believer in anything weird. They never did find the baboon. Obviously. And not long after I got moved to a different department. I left a few months later.

It totally changed the way I thought about things. Especially things that aren't meant to exist. I think the military knew about it. I have no other explanation as to how something like that can get into a high security compound. The encounter probably lasted less than 30 seconds but almost 22 years later I still think about it.

The base our witness is describing sits on the same road that the Monkton missing ladies car broke down on. She was literally within feet of the base. Is this Man Beast connected to the base, has the creature come from there? Dare I say 'made there'. It’s also next to the area where police searched for the Ayrshire baboon.

In an earlier experience our witness had a very scary night when she was camping with a friend.

I haven't camped out since I was 14, me and my best pal were going to camp out in her huge back garden, she lived in a big house in the country. We put the tent up and then her dad took us to Tesco for munchies. When we came back the tent was destroyed. It was ripped apart. That still haunts me nearly 30 years later. Just for the record she lived about 1 mile from Monkton Ayrshire where that poor woman died and was nibbled on by badgers and foxes.

None of the witnesses tonight know of each other. There stories were all individual, coming from all walks of life yet the narrative is the same. And I think there are places like this everywhere, ever multiplying.
