Longridge Fell Bigfoot

Image
Longridge Fell. Time: Late afternoon 3-4 pm Location Details: This is private land with public paths meandering through dense forest. The path that we took started at a car park I believe at the north end. There was only one car park that I could find in the whole area. It was cut out of the dense forest. There is another car park way down south off the same road, but it overlooks the whole valley below. Number of witnesses: Myself, my 2 young children (5 and 7) and my friend. Observed: We were all walking on the path and decided to walk into the dense part off the path. It was purely happen stance. No sooner did we walk in, we stopped and had a look around. This funny looking tree with moss hanging off of it was clearly out of sync with the rest of the forest. Actually, my words to the BFRO was giant haystack. Only I quickly rationalized it away as being what it was....BF. After doing considerable research on the subject and understanding their habits I knew it was standing still....

The Ginger Creature of Beckermet 1998

Image
Cumbria 1998 - The Beckermet area of Cumbria was apparently the location of an intriguing incident in January 1998. According to a letter to the editor published in the Whitehaven News of March of that year: It was about 5.00 p.m. and starting to get dark so my visibility was not that good, but as I walked past the woods I heard the snapping of branches. Thinking it was an animal, I stopped to try and see it. Looking through the trees I noticed a large creature covered in a sort of ginger brown hair that seemed to be drinking from a pond about 150 meters into the woods. As the lighting was getting bad I was straining to make out what it was, but as I stopped and stared, it appeared to notice me. At this point it reared up onto its hind legs and made off slowly further into the woods. I would estimate its height when upright to be around six feet six inches . This was not a man as it was naked except for its covering of hair. Also it was not a dear as it made off on its hind legs. ...

Shadowed through the woods and other strange accounts Pembrokeshire

Image
A young man using Clay lanes one night to go jogging said that while running he thought he heard an animal running next to him in the hedge. He said that such things did not normally concern him but as he ran he realized that this animal was not only quite large due to the noise it was making but also it was very near him and deliberately keeping up the pace with him. The gentleman decided to sprint the last stretch and up to the comforting light of Merlins Bridge and when he reached St marks school and looked behind him he saw peering back at him from the darkness a pair of large golden eyes. The eyes blinked and vanished. Was this just a curious indigenous creature or had the man’s jogging in the night disturbed a very strange entity? Also on the same road as the shadowing creature, what interested me was the arm description, although clearly reported as a "ghost" the arms were swinging as it walked“ ..... We have visited Pembrokeshire many times over the years. Pembrokeshi...

The Keswick Stone Thrower 1980's

Image
It was about 29 years ago. Husband n I went to Keswick in the Lake District. We decided on a lovely day to go walking through some dense remote woods. We found a track and followed it. We all of a sudden came to a clearing. We stood commenting on what a surprise to find such a clearing. We carried on talking then we both froze and all the hairs stood up on our arms. We didnt speak at the time but both of us felt the same. All of a sudden the birds stopped singing and everything went still and quiet. We sort of froze to the spot still didnt say a word.....then we had stones thrown at us but not quite hitting us. Then I said walk back talk as normal. ....we did walk back but we knew we where being followed and whoever was really really close. At the time I thought it was the panther but then with the stone throwing I thought it was a raving mad man. Never ever thought of BF. Anyway we where escorted to the edge of the wood and we knew it. So no actual sighting but now as I have got inter...

The 20ft Brown Creature of Ben Macdhui

Image
One story related to the author of 'The Big Grey Man of Ben MacDhui', a man called Richard Frere. He told of a friend of his who decided to spend a night camping on the top of the mountain in 1940. In his tent near the cairn he began to suffer a feeling of morbidity and a sense of unreality but finally fell asleep. He woke up with moonlight shining through a gap into his tent and suddenly realized that he could see something brownish between himself and the moon. Horrified, he froze, and waited for the thing to move away. When it did, he looked out into the brilliant moonlight and saw a large brown creature 'swaggering' away down the mountain side. He said the creature had 'an air of insolent strength' about it. Incredibly, he estimated the height of the thing to be twenty feet, and described it as having an erect posture, broad shoulders and a tapering waist. Another Account from Ben Macdhui During the World War II, Peter Densham was a mountain resc...

Ben Macdhui Larig Footsteps

Image
Ben Macdhui Larig Footsteps  Borthwick recounted the experiences of two of his fellow climbers: “The first was alone, heading over MacDhui for Corrour on a night when the snow had a hard, crisp crust through which his boots broke at every step. He reached the summit and it was while he was descending the slopes which fall towards the Larig that he heard footsteps behind him, f ootsteps not in the rhythm of his own, but occurring only once for every three steps he took. “I felt a queer crinkly feeling in the back of my neck,” he told me, “but I said to myself, ‘This is silly, there must be a reason for it.’ So I stopped, and the footsteps stopped, and I sat down and tried to reason it out. I could see nothing. There was a moon about somewhere, but the mist was fairly thick. The only thing I could make of it was that when my boots broke through the snow-crust they made some sort of echo. But then every step should have echoed, and not just this regular one-in-three. I was ...

Eyes in the Wood 2014

Image
This is the area i had my sighting, it was a night time sighting, we had just finished a paranormal investigation at this location. We were walking back to the cars which were about 20 minutes walk away from here. we all saw a glowing pair of eyes. They were staring at us, deffo not a birds eyes, nor a fox as it was too tall. It really creeped us out at the time. Ive since been back to this place and can confirm, where it was stood, there is a huge gap between the tree line, and has no low branches or anything that a bird could of been sat on. The path this is on is a disused railway track, has a flowing river, and has a disused mine there ( it was this we were investigating ) I will be going back to document this area and do a follow up investigation. This sighting account joins up many other on the yorkshire route, very close to the Ivy den Sighting and the Rother Valley bear also Carr Wood where mulitple figures were seen. Its is a area of ideal habitat with many woods and rivers ...

The Cave Ha Boggart Giggleswick

Image
Cave Ha Boggart Cave Ha - Rock Shelter in Giggleswick Cave Ha can be reached from the layby on the right just before the road from Settle joins the A65 bypass. It is a huge and spectacular rock shelter and both animal and human remains have been found there. Hollowed out of a massive cliff of Great Scar limestone, it is probably one half of what was once a great cav e chamber fed by a waterfall from above - the other half having been cut back by erosion of the scar, lying as it does as an exposure of the South Craven Fault. No-one knows how the shelter acquired its unusual name, though plenty of early writers were interested in it. As with many caves and shelters, a massive amount of material has been dug out of Cave Ha, such as brooches, needles and other everyday items, but the most interesting of all was a mixture of human bones, which can be found today in Craven Museum, Skipton. The bones had been smashed before storage to access the marrow inside - indicating...
