Strange Eyeshine At Meadowhall Shopping Centre Summer 2019

A gentleman who works at the busy Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield took a photograph of a strange 'animal' with glowing eyes. Shaine Winfrow a BBR member and avid researcher sent in the photograph in the hopes some one will be able to identify the animal in question.

Shaine was working his shift and whilst on a break he manged to quickly take a photo of the eyeshine on his mobile phone. For all this is a busy shopping centre, in a very busy town. There are a number of Wild life Corridors that give access to the area.  As you can see from the Photograph above it is a very green and lush area, which would enable any animal to move around freely. Meadowhall is Bordered on all sides by the River Don, this really is an island oasis in a busy metropolis. There are golfcourses, city parks and railway lines that lead out from the city into the countryside, fields and woods a short walk away.

Have you seen anything like this. Or recognise the eyeshine?  If so please get in touch and let me know what you think? We are always looking for new members to help us investigate these cases. If you would be interested in joining us or have an image you would like to share contact me on debbiehatswell@gmail.com.

  1. Hi, White eye-shine normally is associated with Deer, but I've had a good look at these images at 400% magnification and I have now ruled out all known animals due to the size and shape of the eyes.
It looks to me like a person wearing a pair of 'wrap around' mirror-lens shades, but why would anyone be out in the bushes wearing sun glasses at night?
As a lifetime Naturalist, I have to conclude that Shaine has captured the image of a true Cryptid. Louie.

    1. Shaine is the Cat Wood witness and he has spent the last few decades looking for answers to the creatures he saw that day. He has found lots of witnesses for me through the wild camping community. He is a member of BBR and on the members map if you want to chat with him Louie.

  2. I have seen similar photos to this, it looks very much like leaf reflection. If you look at the middle photo you will see a three fingered leaf at the bottom left side which has been caught by the mobiles flash, it is nearly the same brightness as the "eyes" this occurs when light it reflected at a shorter distance and not pointed directly at the object, the eyes are a bit further and the light source is aimed directly at it causing a slightly brighter outlook. Its quite common and the source of many false sightings. Mick.
