A Short Collection Of British Bigfoot Accounts

Image
Dumbartonshire Shaggy Haired Creature 1991 DUMBARTONSHIRE (July 1991) - Two teenagers reported seeing a creature just over three metres tall covered in black shaggy hair as they hunted rabbits in this area. One witness said the creature had white eyes but no pupils. After watching the creature for what felt like a minute, both witnesses fled. Kent Long Armed Figure This sighting took place in Dartford by a girl named Charlotte who was heading home in her car from the University of Kent. She said she saw a creature with long arms and knees which came up under its chin as it walked. She was so petrified she nearly crashed her car. THE Chatham Ape Man Just one of the many Medway reports: 2000's UK. One of the sightings in Chatham was reported by a young girl(anon) out with her partner walking, who saw “the apeman appear off to the side of them in the scrub, and then it ran off into the bushes.” Goyt Forest Whoops 2013 Report came i...

A Strange Night in Whatstandwell Feb 2007

Image
Witness Nikie Davies: In around 2007, late February, me, my husband and younger daughter went on holiday to Whatstandwell in the Peak District. We stayed in a small lodge there surrounded by an old disused quarry. Our first day there our daughter found 12 old pennies on one of several boulders which encircled the green inside the quarry, while we were unpacking. It felt very 'witchy' - that's the only way to describe it. We are great hikers and had a lot of walks planned and got to know the river, the reservoir, the woods etc. But our first night there was very unusual. We had just tucked up for the evening, us in one small bedroom and our daughter in the other one, both bedrooms on the same side facing the highest cliff of the quarry which had a small cave in it set up high. Just outside the bedroom windows was a reed-filled swampy sort of area. We all could not drift off to sleep. It was all very eerie. It was like we were all on red-alert for something.  This went on for...

Bawtry Green Man Face Summer 1972

Image
The Bawtry Account is one i keep re-visiting over and over the witness is now a friend and i think that is because not only is she a lovely lady, we also shared a similar experience, i was also 15 when it happened to me, a strange face peering at you from the trees and bushes can be alarming as a child but i think this witness handled it in a much calmer way than i.  Her friend reacted in the same way i did, ran scared all the way home, but J didn't, i think her biggest emotion was curiosity and a need to know more. Doncaster and Salford are very similar places, working class towns with many small areas of croftland and old abandoned waste ground that when left for decades returns to nature, and like most working class areas still holds pockets of woodlands and small Eco habitat and this account is only a very small walk from Kings Wood and many small streams that connect to the nearby river Trent. This is what J had to say  This is what happened to me one summers af...

Wood Knocks at Great Fen October '89

Image
I had a very strange encounter near the River Waveney on the Suffolk side of the border. I was walking along our field boundary when from the other side of the ditch about my head height I heard 2 loud knocks on a tree trunk. I stopped to see what it was and I heard very slow and loud breathing. This was only about 15 feet away. I could see nothing, checked for anything rubbing together but it was a dull windless day.  This went on for about a minute and when I couldn't explain it I became unnerved and walked away.   It happened in October '89 around 2pm. Until I learnt about wood knocking it never made any sense to me. Can they render the person unable to see them perhaps?  I feel the knocks were done to make me stop. Quite recently I have found a 4 stick formation in the shape of a noughts and crosses grid. Anyone seen similar? Also I have had my name called and so has my mum. Tricks have been played. Water butts drained then turned off. I checked for leaks. We live...

A Conker In My Pocket

Image
Conker in your pocket You can do anything you want with a conker in your pocket, You can smash and win, or soar and loose Scrape a knuckle, win a bruise But the feel of victory is sweet, an imagination you cannot beat With a conker in your pocket Feel it with your fingers all smooth and glossy “Cover it in vineger” says your sister cos she's bossy “Cover it in nail varnish” says your brother who likes to cheat Or treasure it forever, as it's the biggest in your street. Anything is achievable with a conker in your pocket No matter what age, short or tall, from the Autumn trees they fall Children collect them in droves Old ladies whose spirits rose, at the colour of those Chestnut hues A prescription for the winter blues Send spiders scurrying for miles and fill small children up with smiles The power of a conker in your pocket Ask grand dad will he string them up, he was a champ, he won a cup At age 11 fingers held, he beat ...

Salisbury Plain Hairy Man 2002

Image
DATE: September 2002. LOCATION: Salisbury Plain - Salisbury. SALISBURY PLAIN HOMINID. Witness Report: George Price, however reported something which had lived in his mind, as clear as day, for eight years. It happened in September 2002, when he was serving in the Army. He wrote: “We were on exercises on Salisbury Plain. I was a commander in the turret of our tank, and we were advancing to contact our warriors. I was scanning the landscape when I turned to my 5 o’clock and looked right at a large, ape-like figure. It looked scared because of the noise from the engines and tanks were moving at speed all around. I couldn’t believe my eyes, so I punched my gunner to look at it because he couldn’t hear me over the engine. We both saw it run into nearby prickly shrubs.“Its fur was similar to an orang-utan in colour, and the length and flow of it. Its face looked black, or darkish, but I couldn’t see its facial features, being too high an angle above it. It was more its gait – th...

Colchester Big Hairy Man 2012

Image
This is wonderful account and to me an important one as it shows just how close they come to town and the different effect they have depending on your mindset and approach upon seeing one, the lady witness in this account is so laid back about her partners statement on seeing the figure and the partner's reaction is classic for an average brit. This sighting always makes me smile. Colchester (June, 2012) - Suffolk is a very rural county, but like all of England in my opinion, a long way from anything remotely like wilderness!  Anyway it was early afternoon and my partner and myself were out walking along a quiet road. To our left were some woods and to our right some open fields. We were just walking along, chatting when my partner turned to me and said something like “oooh, I’ve just seen a big hairy man in the woods”. I had a brief look into the woods and didn’t expect to see anything –  and I didn’t. Nevertheless I was keen to get away, not scared exactly, just ke...

The Origins of the UK Bigfoot?

Image
Written by Adam bird co-founder of the British Bigfoot research Team, the UK's BRFO. By no means are we religious people. In fact, we may ultimately be described as atheists. Stories of biblical miracles, Greek Gods and the divine have no bearing on our lives or beliefs. But one thing we do undoubtedly believe is that these stories came from somewhere, and despite their grandeur nature and inconceivable essence, they will, somewhere along the line, have a certain element of fact, verity and truth, morphing into the realms of fantasy, giving rise to the stories and legendary fable that greet us in many religious texts, over many thousands of years. Take for example the story of the Greek God of wild nature, the enigmatic and lascivious Pan. Pan is often portrayed as being a half human and half goat, displaying itself as having the horns and legs of a goat. No temples were specifically ascribed to Pan, and people worshipped him through natural settings such as forests and cave...

The British Bigfoot What? How? Why? prt 1

Image
For myself and many of the long term researchers we often forget that this subject is new to most people and sometimes the only information to be found are the American research studies and whilst they are brilliant at explaining the ways of the Bigfoot, i think what we have here is a little different. Although the habits are the same whether in the UK, Russia, Europe or the United States the descriptions here are slightly more human often being described as caveman like and of a shorter stature than the US giants, though the word Man is often followed quickly by Ape or Gorilla an average height here would be around 7ft tall, always described as hair not fur the coat seems to be sparse in some accounts and skin can be visible through it, but i presume like most humans on the earth look different from one to the next, the same can be said of our Forest Folk, that's how i think of them, Bigfoot is an American name that originated in the 1950’s to describe the print left behind ...

Nairn Valley Big Hairy Thing Multiple Sightings

Image
Our team member (we want to keep this persons name anon and also the witness's as it is a very small area and not a very big population) was in the Clava cairns area today and spoke to a croft owner who has a croft at the north end of the railway viaduct that runs over the river Nairn. Whilst discussing this months wild man sighting at Cava cairns Witness A stated that he had seen the same figure also. He  told our researcher that he had seen 'the big hairy man' walking along the railway line in a southerly direction from the forestry behind his croft towards the viaduct/cairns on quite a few occasions, but couldn't be pinned down to an exact number of times!  He also said his dogs were going nuts each time. Also with the witness was another man who wished to remain unnamed for reason that will become clear.  Witness B: A male from the area of nairn valley and clava cairns who is  out in the fields late night and early morning . He says he has seen something abo...

Has Bigfoot come to Manchester?

Image
A father was baffled to find a mammoth footprint complete with giant claws while on a dog walk. Jim Salveson from Chorlton, Greater Manchester, was strolling through Kenworthy Wood with collie Ruby when he came across the enormous impression in the mud. Dumbfounded at who or what could have made the mark that appears to be a human footprint with four claws at the tip, dad-of-one Jim snapped it to show pals. Freelance radio presenter Jim, 37, said: 'I've not seen anything like it before or since - it's obviously very elusive. 'I have size 10 feet and with my walking boots on the footprint was still bigger than my foot. 'It's so muddy up there at the moment and there are footprints left all over the place. 'It's clearly a bare footprint, which is weird in itself, with what appears to be claws. 'I shared the picture saying it might be Bigfoot or a yeti to be tongue-in-cheek. 'One of my friends said if it was Bigfoot he was rampaging thr...

The Hope Valley "Werewolf" Edale 1925

Image
Hope Valley, Derbyshire S33, UK. EDALE, DERBYSHIRE (1925) - A large dark creature of unknown origin caused havoc here in the 1920s when it killed dozens of sheep. Though rarely seen, the creature was said to have a howl like a fog horn. The locals believed it was a Werewolf.  Now for all this creature was described as a werewolf, it was not because of attack or sighted as resembling a wolf man back then in the 1920' no one here  had knowledge of the wild wood walkers that the UK has, for all the Americans call them Bigfoots and Dogman they are simple earth creatures as are we,  to not understand something causes fear and damage to us all, so if you could just step back a little from the word "werewolf" and look at what was really seen we may have a different understanding of "them".  The simple description  of  (A large dark creature of unknown origin caused havoc here in the 1920s when it killed dozens of sheep) now this could be anything fro...
