Red Eyes in Cley. It Slowly Rotated It's Head

I'd like to tell you about a rather unpleasant encounter I had one night in 1987. First of all, I will say that I had not been drinking etc, and this is the gospel truth. I was about 20 years old and was living at Cley next the sea, North Norfolk  at the time. I had been visiting a mate in my local town of Holt and was walking the 4 miles home just after midnight. Half way along the way, the road crosses a stream and passes through a thick wooded valley, it was very dark with no moon and it was too cloudy to see any stars. I started to feel a bit uneasy, but put this down to my normal reaction to the dark and just kept walking through the woods.

Then, I just froze.........there to my right, just inside the trees was a pair of what looked like bright red glowing eyes, I stood looking for a while but it didn't move. I soon realised that as there was no light source, it couldn't be a normal eye-shine reflection, no, this thing's eyes were glowing red by themselves which was impossible

It was looking along the road in the direction that I was heading. Most people would have scarpered, but for some reason, I got an idea that I wanted to scare it away.

I ran towards it, into the wood, stopped about 10 feet away from it and gave the loudest screaming roar that I could manage but nothing happened, it just kept staring up the road, I didn't know what to do next, but then, like something out of a nightmare, it slowly rotated it's head until it was staring straight at me, I was frozen in fear for a few minutes as we both stared at each other, I then started walking backwards to the road, I kept eye contact and just said something silly like "ok, I'll be going now".

As I walked away up the road, I kept looking back and for a while, I could still see it watching  me until I lost sight of it among the trees.My walk got quicker, then I was jogging and it didn't take long before I was sprinting the two miles I had left. I ran in, locked my door and jumped straight into bed with all my clothes on. This encounter has really done my head in for the last 32 years, but recently, after listing to you re-telling accounts of others, I think it's time for me to share it with you. I am convinced it falls into the Werewolf / Dogman /Shuck category.  You may use this account as you see fit Debs, just glad to finally get it off my chest.
