SIGHTINGS- EXMOOR - Hangley Cleeve, has been the scene of two sightings. Seen in a local quarry by one man, and on the nearby barrows by another, was a figure, described, almost identically, by both of the witnesses as "A large, crouching man-like form, covered in dark, matted hair and with pale, flat eyes" The figure was obviously quite frightening to one of the witnesses, as the man who apparently later went on to became a renowned big game hunter in Africa, described, long after his encounter with the creature, that it was "Absolutely the most terrifying thing he had ever seen
